Not so happily ever after

Pamela AndersonEmily:
Well, the impossible has happened - Pamela Anderson is filing for divorce from Kid Rock after only four months. And as there were several wedding ceremonies, this means that after probably a couple weeks of ‘real’ marriage they have given up. It seems a shame that today people will rush into marriage, and then cut it off as soon as a problem arises. This seems to be even more frequent in celebrity circles; perhaps they simply do not have the time to get to know someone, so they rush into the first thing which looks as though it has some chance of working. Anderson commented that the pair did not have a happy thanksgiving. Maybe someone should have told her that one bad day does not a marriage break.

Am I the only person who really wants the Girl’s Aloud Greatest Hits? Although this compilation is yet another example of a band bringing out their greatest hits before they have finished releasing songs, it is impossible not to find this CD irresistible. Ideal for girl’s nights out, this is the ideal collection for those who love singing into their hairbrush and dancing around their room – and this is most people if everyone is completely honest! Featuring all their hits (and yes - they have had some) I personally cant wait to see this in my stocking.

Gingerbread LatteEmily:
You know its Christmas when Starbucks’ cups become red. Coffee lovers will be pleased to learn that even their favourite daily pick me up can enthuse them with seasonal cheer. Warming and comforting on cold winter mornings, drinks such as the Gingerbread Latte will fill even the most severe Scrooge with good will and festive happiness. Probably the yummiest drink ever, the latte smells and tastes divine - this exciting variation on coffee makes waking up a pleasure rather than a chore. I put it to the ultimate test and had one at 6 in the morning - and it worked! I was wide awake and cheered up, and thats all you can ask from a drink really.

I have a confession to make; I have never seen an entire James Bond film. And yet I find myself strangely drawn to the latest release in the series. I too doubted Daniel Craig’s suitability, but the more photos I see of him, the more I suspect that he might actually be quite good. And if being British means anything it means that we are constantly drawn to the underdog; try though we might, Craig is proving irresistible. Everyone seems to be enjoying the film; all of the reports I have heard cant stop praising it. This might just be the first one I watch…

Pinafore dresses are the perfect way to inject a bit of youth into your life. These pretty items of clothing will force you to recall days past and allow you to indulge in Mallory Towers fantasies, full of midnight feasts and croquet.
These dresses persistently come back into style every few years and therefore it is well worth making the investment. Flattering and stylish, it is not impossible to make them more sexy; pair with fishnet tights or boots to cause a stir.

Emily: This Christmas season wannabe starlets will find no better outfit than the sequin dress. Originally worn by Sienna Miller, this glitzy gown will make every girl feel like the fairy on top of the Christmas tree. Varieties of this special dress can be found in every self-respecting high street store, although those hoping to receive something special this Christmas should start hinting to boyfriends for a slightly more upmarket, designer version. Those who cannot afford diamonds will be pleased to learn that there are other ways to sparkle.

Skirts: not just for summer

TightsEmily:
Opaque tights are truly a godsend. A slightly warmer alternative to the flesh coloured alternatives, black tights are also extremely fashionable. Not only do they look fantastic, they also allow you to dig deep into the wardrobe and pull out those skirts you believed too short for common decency. Subtly sexy and winter friendly, these items are certain to remain in every fashionista’s wardrobe for the foreseeable future.

Hair bands are everywhere. Not only are they extremely fashionable, they are the perfect way to escape bad hair days. When disaster strikes simply push back the offending mop of hair with a stunning hair band and feign sophistication. You can’t go wrong with a thick black version for 60’s style but many stores are beginning to produce highly intricate versions for those who favour delicate touches of elegance. Lovers of sparkly shiny things will love the pretty examples scattered across the high street. Good bets for those searching for the perfect example are Accessorise, which has a vast selection, and H&M for a bargain.

Leather jackets are rapidly popping up all around the high street, bringing out the hell’s angel in everyone. Not only are they warm and practical, they are also bound to go with everything in your wardrobe. Just when you thought you would be forced to spend the winter in enormous coats the biker jacket pops up to save the day. No matter what colour, style or fabric you are yearning after, there is bound to be the perfect jacket waiting for you to give it a good home.
