Are men really Martians?

brain.jpgJanuary is the busiest time for divorce lawyers and if you are one of the women headed this way in the post-Christmas period perhaps you may be reassured to know that your husband’s sometimes baffling behaviour can be explained by biology. Yes, there really are differences between the sexes’ grey matter. Men’s brains are 15% larger than women’s but female’s brain cells are better able to communicate with each other. They typical male brain is hard-wired for action whereas the female’s is wired for nurturing. Whereas men develop characteristics such as aggression, competitiveness and self-reliance, females are far more interested in language, memory and relationships. The next time you despair of men’s inability to discuss their feelings just remember that there is more to the saying “Men are from Mars” than meets the eye.
