Not a safe place?

The hugely popular networking site, MySpace, is currently being sued by the families of five teenagers who were sexually assaulted by men they met through the website. Despite the fact that MySpace increased security measures last year to protect its young users, there still seem to be many cases in which children using the site have been lured. Whilst I am incredibly concerned about the whole issue, I do wonder if it is MySpace which is to blame. In my opinion, if a paedophile is determined enough, he will be able to find a route to his prey, with or without networking sites such as these. I therefore think that it should be kept in mind that the priority should rest in educating children to stay safe online, not necessarily in clamping down on websites such as these. There is no point shutting down a sweetshop to prevent children from accepting sweets from strangers.
