Vote for the new seven wonders of the world
Rushda:
March 9th, 2007
It’s been 2200 years since the previous seven wonders of the world were announced, and now only one of these ancient wonders still stands, namely the Pyramids of Giza. The decision has therefore been reached that we must construct a new list of seven wonders of the modern world. Indeed a huge world-wide vote is currently taking place in order to decide the world’s favourite monuments built before the year 2000.
A panel of experts has made a shortlist of 21 wonders from which to choose from. The choices include obvious favourites such as the Taj Mahal and The Great Wall of China, and other interesting ones such as the fairytale castle of Neuschwanstein. Anyone can vote and the deadline is in 12 days time, with the result being announced on the rather fitting date of 7th July 2007. To view more information about all the nominations and to vote, visit newsevenwonders.com and influence the decision for the new official list.

My suggestions for the “new 7 wonders” voting include the following 8(!) candidate monuments:
ACROPOLIS (a group of temples, sculpts and statues depicting the cosmopolitan ancient greek civilization in perfect harmony and grace)
ANGKOR WATT (the biggest religious temple in the world, representing both the Hindu and Buddhist cosmos in symmetry and grandeur)
CHICHEN ITZA (ancient city of Maya with well-preserved stone temples-pyramid of Kukulcan-, palaces, stages, markets, baths, and ballcourts)
EASTER ISLAND (the awesome megalithic statues -more than 880 documented sofar- carved by a mysterious polynesian civilization)
GREAT WALL OF CHINA (the greatest man-made construction ever! If I had to vote for one, I would definetely vote for THAT)
PETRA (ancient multi-cultural city -Aramaic, Greek, Roman, Arab- with tunnels, tombs and temples(”Monastery”) carved in solid rock)
PYRAMIDS OF GIZA (perfect mathematical constuctions, filled with finest egyptian art and hieroglyphics, the only ancient wonder still standing)
STONEHENGE (astonomical observatory, ritual temple or burialground of sacred ancestors? The oldest and most mysterious wonder candidate)

Taj Mahal is the pride of India. Its removal from the 7 wonders of the world is total failure of the Indian community in making the world believe that India is a safe place for tourism and peaceful living. To achieve this I feel we all (people and our governments of all cadres) should put all out efforts to make the World Believe That India Is A Safe Place For Visit As A Tourist And Also A Very Very Very Beautiful, Peaceful place to Live because of its greatest Philosophical values of Religious Tolerance. No where inthe world do we find this tolerance for other religions. But unfortunately our politicians with their very idiotic stupid and cruked minds are spoiling the serene atmosphere of India for which it is famous. In my view we must first BAN all our politicians and kick them out. We need totally new blood of people who are sincere both IN action and deed. Both should be one but not like word and action differing. OUr election process is also a big farce making us real fools., bcos it is always only money and goondaism that is winning in India. We want leaders of dynamism but not leaders who bow to their superiors in full loyalty. Sure one must be loyal to his leader, but that does not mean mere surrender to their feet. IN such a case what is wrong in our leaders prostrating to Religious Leaders who are really sincere atleast to a degree more that our bloody politicians and thier superiors. MY INDIA IS GREAT AND WILL BE GREAT FOR EVER AND EVER AND EVER whoever is at the helm of its affairs. LAST but not least, TAJ MAHAL is our Pride and let it stand in honour and Pride.
