I never thought that pizzas were supposed to be a delicacy. OK so sometimes they do taste pretty divine and feel like a luxury, but that’s only really for those trying to lose weight or students who are strapped for cash. Did I say strapped for cash? Well, how about a pizza costing $1000?! This is the latest in the line-up of expensive pizzas, a previous one being a £2000 Valentine’s pizza blogged about by my iblog colleague Virgil. It cannot be a coincidence that in the space of a few weeks there is another ridiculously expensive pizza and I do wonder about this strange new trend. The $1000 pizza, which is currently being served at a swish New York restaurant, is (naturally) topped with four different kinds of caviar and lobster. You can see it being made here. Hmmm…looks just like a normal pizza to me I’m afraid. But I guess the chef’s not at all biased when he says it is “worth every penny”.
