About
I finished studying English in Bristol in 2001 and then took myself off round the world for a year. I'm now settled in London and by day I'm part of Fubra's (the company behind iblog) content management team, coordinating the development of many new, exciting and interesting web sites. Outside of work I love to travel to places I haven't been before, read books that I can't put down and watch movies that make me think. I try my best to be environmentally friendly and spread the green message where possible - even if it does mean annoying my housemates by constantly telling them to turn off the lights, switch their telly's off standby and recycle EVERYTHING.

Energy prices going down

February 2nd, 2007

704783_arrow_matic.jpgHan: Not the headline we are used to I know, but amongst all the usual dull paperwork that dropped through my letterbox this morning was a letter from Southern Electric telling me that my gas and electricity prices would actually be going DOWN within the next few months! After continual price rises over the last few years, I only ever expect bad news when I receive mail from my energy company, but for once reading this didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth and a dent in my bank account. What made me all the more satisfied was the fact that I have only recently switched to this energy company after someone came knocking at my door before Christmas promising me that they could reduce my bills. I was of course cynical but after he impressed me with a few figures I gave in and decided to make the switch. It was actually very pain free and all I had to do was sign one form and take one phone call. I didn't expect any miracles but a only a couple of months into contract and a letter titled 'Price reductions' - all sounds good to me.
